Scholarship Assistance

Summerfield Recreation Association believes every child should have the opportunity to participate in recreational sports. Families who need assistance with registration fees may explore the two options below.

Financial Assistance Options

Every Kid Sports Pass

The Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation supports Every Kid Sports, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides income-restricted families with financial assistance to help cover youth-sports registration fees.

Families interested in this program should review the eligibility information and application process directly through Every Kid Sports.

SRA Limited Scholarships

SRA frequently receives donations from families during and after the registration process. These donations are used to assist children who would otherwise be unable to participate in SRA sports programs.

SRA is a nonprofit organization with limited scholarship funding. Assistance is based on available donated funds, and approval is not guaranteed.

Equal Opportunity

SRA does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, color, national origin, or disability in its programs, activities, or scholarship decisions.

SRA Scholarship Guidelines

  • Only one family member per household may be considered for financial assistance during any season.
  • The term any season includes the spring, fall, or winter season and may apply to Baseball, Softball, or Basketball.
  • Assistance may be provided as a full fee waiver, partial fee waiver, or delayed registration payment.
  • Financial assistance will generally be granted only once per player. A second request may be considered depending on the number of applicants, available funds, and the frequency of previous requests.
  • Applicants are not required to submit financial statements or proof of income.
  • Scholarship decisions are based only on the limited information requested for the application process and the availability of donated funds.
  • Assistance is funded only through donations specifically designated for the SRA scholarship fund.
  • Once scholarship funds have been exhausted for a season, no additional assistance will be available for that season.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Scholarship requests are handled privately. The SRA President, Treasurer, and Secratary oversee the assistance process and are the only Board members with access to information about applicants and scholarship recipients.

The SRA President maintains the scholarship-request list. Race, gender, color, national origin, and disability information will not be requested or considered when making assistance decisions.
