Coaching with SRA
Volunteer coaches are an essential part of the SRA community.
Our coaches help create a positive, safe, and enjoyable sports experience for every athlete. Whether you are coaching for the first time or returning for another season, we appreciate your willingness to give your time and support to SRA.
The information below explains how to volunteer, complete the required paperwork, and prepare for the season.
How Do You Become an SRA Coach?
1. Volunteer During Registration
Submit your name as a prospective coach when you register your child.
If you missed this step, visit the Contact Us page to reach the appropriate League Commissioner and let them know you are interested in coaching.
2. Wait to Hear From SRA
A League Commissioner, Vice President, or another SRA representative will contact you if additional coaches are needed for the season.
3. Complete a Background Check
All coaches, commissioners, and SRA Board members must complete the required background-screening process.

4. Sign the Coach's Code of Conduct
Every coach must review and sign the SRA Coach's Code of Conduct. After signing the form, email it to the commissioner for your league.
What Happens After the Paperwork?
- SRA will set you up in the TeamSnap system.
- Review all evaluation dates and important league information. Coaches should attend player evaluations when applicable.
- Available practice days and times are established by league administrators. Coaches select from the available practice options during the team draft process.
- You will receive a TeamSnap invitation after being assigned to the appropriate league.
- Once players have been assigned to your team, you can communicate with families, review schedules, and share team information.
- Use TeamSnap to communicate practice information, schedules, and expectations.
- Follow all SRA and TeamSnap communication guidelines throughout the season.
Important Reminders
- Communicate clearly and consistently with your team's families.
- Thank your team sponsor for supporting SRA programs.
- Ask questions whenever you are unsure about a policy or procedure.
- Help create a positive, safe, and family-oriented environment.
- Most importantly, enjoy your time coaching!
